We are an ethical coffee estate perched at an elevation of 4000 feet above sea level. Situated in the Masagali reserve forest, our estate is nestled in the Western Ghats, one of the biodiversity hotspots of the world.

Bynemara coffee is shade-grown — intercropped with pepper, cardamom, pomelos, avocados, and other tropical treats — following an agroforestry system.

Agroforestry is a land-management system that encourages interaction between the different components of the farm – emphasising their symbiotic relationship. It contributes to soil health and results in an increase in biodiversity. Through the planting of the trees at strategic spots it creates a companionship between the plant species. Agroforestry helps mitigate climate change by protecting the natural resources of the forest.

Bynemara coffee plants are intercropped with an assortment of medicinal and healing spices; pepper, clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom, betel leaves and long pepper. The estate’s orchards are brimming with local varieties of tropical fruits such chiku, mango, guava, avocado, orange, sweet lime, pomegranate, pomelo, and papaya. Our estate proves to be a sanctuary for native wildlife including bison, deer, sambar, wild boar, buck, and tiger.
